Sneak Peeks!
Okay, before I get to the actual picture posts, quick update:
First, it looks like Tokyopop is extending my deadline until mid-June. However, this does not affect the current street date of October 2005. I had my original deadline set earlier than I needed on purpose--so that I wouldn't put off working in the beginning only to rush at the end. So--technically speaking--I am actually still ahead of schedule, in spite of missing my original deadline. So . . . yeay! New goals!
Second, it looks like my roomie,
startingblocks, has suddenly decided he wants to join the Marines. While I'm fine with this--my brother is a Marine and it's a fine career and service to our country--it means I have to postpone moving to Manhattan. :\ He seems pretty set on this, too . . . Hmmm . . . ANYway. I also just found out some other news from my sister that isn't so great, but I won't know for sure until mid-April. But that may affect my living situation, too. *bleh*
On a different note . . .
Sneak Peaks!!!!! Whoohoo! \^o^/
Just a couple pages I've been working on recently, I don't think I've shown anything with Leah and Sarai together. These are the two sisters as they'll appear in the print version:

I like this example because it has a side-by-side comparison of a very similar panel in my earlier webcomic version of "Steady Beat" from a little under a year ago: http://www.rivkah.com/artwork/steadybea t/newpages/sb008r.jpg
So yeah . . . soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better now. >_<
And second, a side-by-side comparison of WHY I pencil my whole book before inking it. This is a look at some of my pencils back in November 2004:

And how I go and redraw everything because I change my mind and realize the panels can look better. I also realized my expressions have become a lot better. This is March 2005:

I don't do the whole "super deformed" characters very often in "Steady Beat," but I thought this made a good example of my progression over the past half year. I'll try and post some of my more dynamic panels at a later date. There's actually a lot of action in the last half of the book, and some pretty cool overhead "moving" shots.
